Most of the colleges have criteria for first year students to change their branch in second year, but for that you have to fill the upgradation form while admission. And it's not the case that just by filling the form you will bee applicable for upgradation to different branch.

The paper 1 was comparatively easier than the paper 2 of the gate civil Engineering 2018. However,the exam you find easier, largely depends on your preparation.
