Syllabus for GATE and IES is almost same. don't take both as different things.
Core branch syllabus is same for bot in IES there will be subjective paper so you have to practice for that also.

My suggestion will be to take admission in an M.Tech program at any of top 7 IIT preferably IIT Bombay so that if there is no more PSU hiring this year. You'll get selected at BARC after your PG from IIT as they come during 2nd year of your Masters
