It may be difficult for you to take admission in this college in civil engineering as the cutoff of last year was around 11226 (Opening) and 28447 (Closing). So based on the last years data, even if cutoff increases, it may not increase upto 40000.

Both are really good colleges but the overall ratings for IIEST shibpur is better compared to NIT calicut ,the fees for IIEST is INR 1.60 lakhs for 4 years but for NIT calicut it is INR 5.30 lakh for 4 years,Nit calicut has better infrastructure and facilities compared

NIT is itself a flagship college which comes under central government.  The placement percentage for civil branch is 70% , with highest package being 17 LPA and average package being 6.27 LPA.
This branch has  very good scope in PSUs and also higher studies.
