After your Engineering you can directly appear for the GATE exam and get a job in PSU's.

You need to excel the exam and you have to get a rank under 600 to get a top PSU'S.

If you cgpa is quite less i.e below 6 then there is a problem, considering general category. If you have less than 6 cgpa then even after qualifying GATE exam you won't be able to get NIT' and most of the IIT's.
