I hope you are doing well, Yes you can give 10th exam from different boards. It is not illegal since there is no law which prohibits you from doing so. The only thing that you have to keep in mind is that you cannot use both of your certificates.

see there is no upper age limit to appear in cbse board exam of 10th standard. however as per available guidelines of central board of secondary education (CBSE) the minimum age to appear in the 10th board exam is 14 years , as of 31st december of the year
