I have got 63% in CBSE 12TH 2023, and my pcm is less than 60% aggregate. will I get chance in jadavpur university btech with a good wbjee rank?

Shubham Aggarwal 10th Apr, 2024

Hi,

Securing admission to Jadavpur University for B.Tech programs involves meeting both academic and entrance exam criteria. While a good WBJEE rank is essential for admission, academic qualifications, such as your Class 12 percentage and PCM aggregate, also play a significant role.

Given your Class 12 percentage of 63% and PCM aggregate of less than 60%, it may pose a challenge for admission to Jadavpur University's B.Tech programs, as the university typically has stringent academic eligibility criteria.

However, admission criteria can vary, and Jadavpur University may consider candidates with exceptional WBJEE ranks despite slightly lower academic scores. Additionally, certain reserved categories may have relaxation in academic criteria.

To assess your chances accurately, consider the following steps:

  1. Review Previous Year's Cutoffs : Analyze the previous year's cutoff ranks for your desired B.Tech programs at Jadavpur University. This will give you an idea of the rank range required for admission.

  2. Check Academic Eligibility Criteria : Review the academic eligibility criteria specified by Jadavpur University for B.Tech admissions. Determine if there are any relaxations for candidates with exceptional entrance exam ranks.

  3. Prepare Well for WBJEE : Focus on achieving a high WBJEE rank by thoroughly preparing for the exam. A strong performance in WBJEE can compensate for relatively lower academic scores.

  4. Consider Alternative Options : Explore alternative engineering colleges and universities that offer B.Tech programs and have more flexible admission criteria. Keep an eye on colleges where your academic qualifications align better with their eligibility criteria.

In summary, while your academic scores may present a challenge for admission to Jadavpur University's B.Tech programs, a strong WBJEE rank can significantly enhance your chances. Research thoroughly, prepare diligently for the entrance exam, and consider alternative options to maximize your opportunities for admission.

Can I redo CBSE Class 12 from different school, after passing it once? If yes, which marks will be considered as my final (best of 2, or later one)?

Student 26th May, 2022

Hi there

In regards to your query the answer would be unfortunately negative. Once you have passed the class 12th examinations the board formulates your result through your unique registration form which you had filled through the school and hence all your data is already entered in the database, so your results are already become a part of your registration unless you go for an improvement exam which would involve different regulations to follow.

Hope this answer helps; best wishes

Hello aspirant

Hope you are doing great there . First of all you need not be depressed . As you mentioned above , you scored a bit less in your improvement exams , therefore your initial score that is 79% will be taken into account . Since the best of both the sessions will be taken into account . Therefore you can attempt JEE Mains . If you still have a doubt then you can also contact NTA query centre .

I hope my answer helps

Wish you all the very best!

I have applied the Neet application form before class 12 Cbse result. In the application form there was a field called code and it had only one code that is 01. Now I got my Cbse results and I am appearing for Neet 2021 for 1st time. What code should I mention now?

Subhrajit Mukherjee 11th Aug, 2021

The NEET code 01 is correct for your case.

As you are a CBSE 2021 appearing student the code is applicable for you.

The Code 1 applicable for:

  • Students who are appearing for the boards in the present academic session.

Now as your results are released then you have to provide the marks and other details when ever asked by the NTA. So you have nothing to worry about. You should focus on your studies.

Hello student as 5 subjects are enough to get passed in class 12 as 6th subject is optional subject. If you want to appear in compartment examination and get passed in Mathematics subject sure you can appear in the compartment examination.

If you're willing to pursue engineering from top engineering colleges like NIT's IIITs CFTIs IITS and many others college you need to appear in jee main entrance examination.

how percentage is calculated in class 12 cbse result

harshitasharansrivastava Student Expert 19th Jul, 2020

Hi dear,

The Central Board of Secondary Education released the Class 12 exam results on 13th July 2020. To calculate the percentage you need to add up maximum marks of each subject and separately add marks obtained in each subject. Now divide total of marks obtained by Total of Maximum marks and then multiply it by 100 to get percent. In case where you have 2 optional subjects and have in total 6 subjects, you can omit any one mark of either compulsory or optional subject.

Hope this helps.. Good Luck
