What is the average package at CMRIT bangalore for CSE.

sristi prasad 3rd Jul, 2019

CSE usually has the best placements at CMRIT. During my time, the highest package offered on campus was about 7 lakhs by a company named Exeter. They recruited just 2 people - 1 from CSE and the other from ECE. Overall, most of the people from CSE were placed by graduation - either on campus or off campus. Lowest package as far as I know was around 3 lakh.

As far as I know, a lot of things have changed for the better since then but the packages offered have remained more or less the same.

Tell me good things about cmrit bangalore

Deepali Bansal 2nd Jul, 2019

HELLO ZEESHAN ALI

1.       Faculty - There has been a massive revamp in faculty ever since YOU graduated. There are some really good teachers and there are some really bad ones. This is pretty common across colleges. The percentage of good teachers will be anywhere between 20 to 30%. The “OK” ones will be anywhere between 40 to 50% and the remaining are below average.

2.      Placements - During 2017–18 period, the largest recruiter in the college was none other than the great TCS :) They recruited just 64 people compared to 110 the previous year. A lot of people were struggling for jobs. Most of the best opportunities went to the CSE and ISE guys. Nobody wanted the other branches. TCS was the only mass recruiter during my time. I have heard that the placements were really good after that and have been consistent since then. Lot of good companies visit these days - Amazon, Nokia, Commonfloor, etc. Lot of pool campus events and off campus events also help in getting students placed. These days they more or less place around 80 to 90% people by the time they graduate. Most of the people from my batch found jobs within 3 to 6 months after graduation.

3.      Peer group - The peer group is actually very good. Most of the students here are pretty good, knowledgeable, ambitious and hard working. There are lots of guys who get university ranks every year.

4.      Infrastructure - Decent but not too great. They have a good international canteen now and a huge basketball court now. The ground is also pretty good and they have a great auditorium. The hostel is OK

5.      Location - It is very close to ITPL. In fact, it is situated in one of the best places in Bangalore. The locality is amazing. There are lots of restaurants and hangout spots all around the college. There is a movie theatre close by as well :)

6.      Alumni - I felt that the alumni are more or less disconnected from the juniors. This is a big issue. In great colleges, the alumni are the ones who drive placements, tech talks, etc. This is one area where my college is lacking big time. I think the college needs to do a bit here to bring the alumni back and organize events for juniors. Networking and learning from alumni can do a lot for the students who are trying to get their foot into the industry.

7.      Extra curriculars - The focus on this is not particularly large but there is fair amount of encouragement. There are a lot of clubs these days - for the students, of the students and by the students. There are some faculty members who encourage students to take up projects. The Dean is one such person.. The Physics department too has a professor who is obsessed with helping students succeed and take up research :)

  1. Cultural Activities: It organises fest called cultura every even sem for 2 days. Where it will have Fashion Show, Mad Ads, different cultural activities and it ends up with DJ. Once we had Sunburn band and next we had Raghu Dixit.
  2. Facilities: They have recently set up a workshop called Makerspace. which has 3D printer, wood cutting machine and different type tools. This is a good initiative where students can make use of it for their Projects or any ideas to bring out.
    1. Apart from that they have everything that students basically need viz. Labs, AV halls, Auditorium and Library.
    2. Library has very good ambience but the problem is they issue only 2 books and if you don't renew on time you have to pay hefty fine based on the days.

So, overall, I wouldn’t say it is amazingly good. It is definitely a good place to be and a good place to learn. You won’t be disappointed for sure.

HOPE IT HELPS

Is CMR institute of technology Bangalore a good college for ISE? How is salary packages??

Jaswanth Vemula 1st Jul, 2019

Hello Bharateesh Ananth,

The placement scenerio was pretty good for CS/IT branches at CMRIT

Approximately 25–30 super dream companies visited this year (till Sept). Obviously, this count will increase and we have 5–6 more super dream companies lined up for October. Also, many companies will visit the campus next semester.

Microsoft and Cisco were two super dream companies that hired in double digits (12–16, I guess). Apart from that, another 10–15 students(mostly GDC, 2 for IDC who did internship) got ppo from Microsoft.

Some 20 students will get to do internship at Cisco through their CCNA programme. They will be converted to FTEs based on their performance during the internship period.

.

Now you do the math to find out the number of hires by these two companies. :p

.

The highest package was offered by Amazon(27lacs -> 3 students).

.

Directi(26 lacs -> 1 student), Paypal(21lacs -> 7 students), De-Shaw(25 lacs -> 3 students).

.

Other super dream companies like Morgan Stanley, Appdynamics, ABCO, Commvault, Texas Instruments, Qualcomm, Oracle, Schlumberger, McKinsey etc hired around 4-5 each on an average. There were many other super dream companies that came to our campus. I wrote the ones that I remembered.

.

Coming to dream placements: Some 60–80 dream companies came till September. The number will reach 100 by the end of this semester. Notable dream companies were Amadeus, Teradata, Netscope, Sapient, Deloitte, Dell, HSBC, ZS Associates, Zoho, Wells Fargo, Blackrock etc. Approximately 400 students got placed in dream companies till September (This number includes all the branches. For CS/IT it may be around 250–300).

.

Some 20 students will get to do internship at Cisco through their CCNA programme. They will be converted to FTEs based on their performance during the internship period.

.

And, yeah! Google is coming this time. But, the profile that they are offering is Data Analyst, Trust and Safety with a package of 6 lacs.(base salary. 14 lacs if stock options are included)

I’m not talking about mass placements. Kindly refer to the other answer if you want information regarding the same.

Which is better for Cse acharaya or cmrit?

Jaswanth Vemula 1st Jul, 2019

Hello Anurag Singh,

If you consider academics and placement in consideration of computer science branch, CMRIT is far better than Acharya and it is located near ITPL in AECS Layout which can help your personality development in the four year journey whereas Acharya is located in outskirts of Bangalore. Even if you consider college rankings on the internet, CMRIT will emerge to be good one though Acharya is good for extra curricular activities like music, sports.

Is choosing cse in cmrit or jb institute or iare. Which is the best option?

Jaswanth Vemula 1st Jul, 2019

Hello Manikanta Kaspa,

All of the above mentioned colleges are good at their own level but from my point of view if i would have been at your place then i will go for either SIT(ECE) or CMRIT(ISE). Since KLE is in Hubli which is out of Bangalore so i don’t think i’ll get that much of exposure which is i am getting in Bangalore.Since Bangalore is IT Hub of India so here you will get huge chance of visiting many companies understanding their work culture, attending various Tech. competition, attending many IT events and many more.

Now Lets see each colleges in brief:-

SIT Tumkur

SIT(Tumkur) :- SIT Tumkur is the one of the best college among above mentioned colleges . And It is also ranked under Top Ten college of Bangalore. It is 70 k.m away from Bangalore.

SIT has good infrastructure and also having good faculties who try to give their best to give butter quality of education to their students.

Another thing if you are north indian then you may don’t like the food as it is mixture of both(North+South Indian Recipe) but you’ll find south indian food very often. But No worry you have choice of staying outside of Hostel campus as there are many PGS for both Boys and Girls near by college or you can also look for Flat.

Now, Coming To Placement part which is the major concern of most of the student. Here in SIT Tumkur placement is pretty good for CSE, ISE and ECE followed by EEE and for MECH. & CIVIL by less Core companies comes for placement and also they just pick only 5–10 students from total available strength. so very very less chance of placement for Mech and Civil in core company. But ya they have chance to sit in IT companies placement process and if are good enough to clear that then they can switch their line or else they have to look for Pool Campus.

2) CMRIT Bangalore:- CMRIT is one of the emerging college in bangalore even it is 25 years old but from past few years cmrit is trying hard to make the education quality of best level.

CMRIT has infrastructure which i’ll say is just okay neither too small neither too big.

Faculty in this college are also good and well experienced except few. But also it differs according to the branch. If i talk about ISE branch as you have mentioned then ISE branch having very good and well experienced faculty and they are very friendly with the students. You can contact them at any time within college hour they will be available for you. ISE branch is improving their teaching and curriculum day by day.

CMRIT is in the main city of bangalore so you’ll have huge chance of exploring yourself by going numerous IT events and so on. Here, in this scene CMRIT has also started taking their students at different organisation like-TCS,HAL,Nuclear Power plant,IBM,etc.. to let the student understand the industrial work culture and fill the enthusiasm to learn something new.

Taking about Hostel facilities and food my view is similar to what i’ve mentioned for SIT tumkur.Refer that point.

Talking about placement, something similar to SIT. Here also placement of CSE,ISE is pretty good if u have minimum 60% of aggregate then there is a chance to get placed in some or other company by the end of 8th sem. Again ECE also has good placement number but very less chance to get placed in core company as they visit least. So students have to switch towards IT job. EEE has okay placement but Mech. and civil very very less hope.

3) KLE Tech:- I don’t have any idea about this college so i’ll prefer not to say anything for this college.

.

P.S :- Choose college wisely as you have to spend your precious 4 years for doing and learning something new, develop new skill, explore your passion & talent and live your adventure.

.

Hope this helps...

Thank you and all the best...

Which college should I prefer the most for cse? Please rank in order nitte meenakshi, cmrit, acharaya, jss academy in bangalore?

Jaswanth Vemula 1st Jul, 2019

Hello Anurag Singh,

All colleges are at same level or position.Depending on ur branch , cutoff, fees, travel time, placement and teaching choose the college..

I can tell u the benefits of NMIT

1.Autonomous college

2.happy to say “Good R&D projects” going on-Studsat-2(Student satellite project), Robotics,MEMS and nanomaterials, IOT and many more projects…These Centre of Excellence will benefit students.

3.. 2 months Holidays/Vacations (autonomous.. Supplementary sem)…u can utilize it for enjoying, learning or doing any projects..If u have passed all subjects

Placements and teachings are good.Everything is in your hand and depends on you at the time of placement…

.

Me being an alumnus of SJBIT, I can say a few things about my college.

Plus points

Good infrastructure.

Excellent placement especially CS and IS.

The college is becoming autonomous.

Good teaching staff.

Minus points

Strict teaching.

Accessibility is problem as the college is located in the outskirts.

The college has a things for fines. They collect fines for even the smallest of mistakes.

Not many extra curricular activities take place.

No good interbranch relations.

From the research that I did before joining this college, BNMIT & NMIT were the better options.

.

Hope this helps...

Thank you and all the best...
