According my KCET rank, sub 10000, I am getting new horizon ISE and CMRIT CSE. Which among these should i prefer?

divya 18th Oct, 2021

Hello,

Congratulations on getting such good college and branch options. I will give you a preference list which will comprise of all these factors:

  • Overall ranking
  • Infrastructure
  • Location/accessibility
  • Branch that you are been offered(Core/interdisciplinary)
  • Placement opportunities
  • Industry Exposure

The preference order you should consider is:

  1. New Horizon College of Engineering
  2. C M R Institute of Technology

CSE deals with both software and hardware and ISE deals with only software. Placement opportunities are same for  both these branches.
If you're planning to do further studies then, CSE is a wiser choice as in India currently there are no postgrad programmes available for Information Science, GATE has only CSE paper and you'll have to do your M.Tech, MS in CSE only.

I would also like to add here that an engineering course should be very much taken with an interest in the field so I would suggest you to consider that factor and if you are not aware of the branches mentioned look them up on the internet more reliable will be to go through the syllabus on the respective colleges' website. An interest in the field is the key factor in deciding how your 4 years of college will be and what opportunities you will land for yourself.

Good luck, hope it helps!!

As you mentioned college both belong to same tier of college and you mentioned your course branch ie that is CSE and in CSE you will always have more chance than others course  branch to get a placement and more package than others

So don't worry about your college preference as both of it has same placement ratio

And if you have enough knowledge then you take placement by offcampus

is cmr institute of technology(CMRK) better for engineering?

Subhrajit Mukherjee 15th Sep, 2021

See when you compare two colleges, then only you can use the justification for better. You have mentioned the name of one college only so to compare it we need to have another college. And as you have tagged JNEC, Aurangabad then I am giving you the answer comparing to it. See JNEC is better as a college to study engineering compared to that of CMRK. The reason behind it because:

  • JNEC have a more updated and more industry oriented curriculum
  • The infrastructure of JNEC is better compared to CMRK
  • The faculties in JNEC are more expertise to the modern technological development and they are into research. So you will get knowledge about more advanced concepts in engineering.
  • Also from a placement point of view, JNEC offers a better placement.

So consider all this important parameters, it would be wiser to go for JNEC than CMRK.
