CUSAT is a very reputed university. Getting admission over there is not only difficult, but is also a tedious process. There is cut-throat competition amongst students to get a seat in the School of Engineering (SOE), Cochin.

With this score, I don't think that you will get in the first list itself. But towards the end, you might surely end up with a seat in the branch you want. Try to call them and ask them about the seats when the process is over. There will always be some seats left. You can surely apply for the institutional round.

With this rank, you can easily get admission in School Of Engineering, Cochin; for Computer Science. Doing CSE from SOE is having a lot of value in this country, and other Asian countries. You have a lot of scope.

There is no particular way to predict whether or not you will be able to secure admissions, however, based off of last years cut-offs it seems unlikely for you to be able to secure a seat in any college through the CUSAT CAT exam unless you belong to any particular reserved category.

The minimum rank required to get admission is the cutoff of CUSAT CAT 2019 as released by Cochin University of Science and Technology. Candidates will be required to meet CUSAT CAT 2019 cutoff to get admission in the institute and B.Tech programmes offered by it.

For those who will not meet CUSAT CAT cutoff, 2019 will have fewer chances of admission in comparison to those who will have more or equivalent ranks. The authorities will determine the cutoff of CUSAT CAT 2019 using various influential factors due to which it will vary for each category and course. 

Now coming back to your question, the rank of 6566 if you belong to a general category then it would be difficult to convert. However, you can get other branches with that rank. For more details on the university cutoff, do check out this link:

There are rare chances that you may get selected for the seat of MSc Chem as the closing rank for it was 796.

They have announced the rank of the students who have cleared the examination. Now, they will open a window in their website in which you have to select your preferred branch in the order you want them. They will open this window in few days. As soon as you do this, they will start short-listing students and will call them directly. Then the students can decide whether to take admission or not.

In Cochin University College of Engineering, Kuttanad last year cutoff for Electronics and Communication is 5385. It is possible that you got this college in this year. 

For 1st year your fees is 87,930 for Electronics and communication.

Yes you may get CSE/IT in CUSAT with the mentioned rank according to the last round cutoff but getting SOE is not sure. I'll suggest you to wait till the last rounds to confirm the availability of seat. Be updated with all the official notifications to not miss the seat.
