yes to get admission in cochin university of science and technology for the course B.Tech you need to appear for CUSAT CAT 2020 in order to be eligible for the same course but i think you have missed it because the registration of CUSAT CAT exam has been closed

For other courses, karunya is a little costlier compared to Cusat.
Both the colleges are pretty good with academics, infrastructure, campus placements etc.
In my opinion CUSAT has better placement oppurtunities.
