Can i get into nit in cse specialisation with 32k rank in category rank as a sc student in csab counselling

Prachi Kumari 17th Jul, 2025

Hello,

With a 32k SC category rank, getting CSE (specialisation) in top NITs is difficult, but you may have a chance in lower-ranked NITs or newer ones during CSAB counselling.

Cut-offs change every year, so keep all options open and fill as many choices as possible.

Hope it helps !

kya nit Trichy ke andar production engineering se cse ke andar branch change ho sakti hai

Tanya Gupta 13th Aug, 2024

Hello,

Yes, NIT Trichy allows students to change branches, including from Production Engineering to Computer Science and Engineering (CSE). However, this depends on your academic performance during the first year, particularly your CGPA. Branch change is highly competitive, especially for CSE, so you'll need to rank among the top students.
