You will get admission in NIT on the basis of your category rank i.e. obc rank. It is not easy to predict your obc rank because it depends on the no. obc students that participated this year. For a percentile of 84 your obc rank should be around 45k to 50k. With this obc rank your chances of getting top NITs, like NIT Trichy, Warangal, Rourkela, Surathkal, allahabad is not possible, You can get least preferred branch like biotech in mid, tier NITs like NIT Durgapur, Surat etc. if you have home state quota. If you want better branch then you can get that in lower NITs but only if you have state quota. State quota performs and important in your admission in NITs.
