Sir my date of birth is 3 May 2003.....I want to know that....how many attempts I have left for CDS IMA Date: 25 July 2024

Prachi Kumari 25th Jul, 2024

Hello,

For CDS (Combined Defence Services) exam conducted by the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) for admission to the Indian Military Academy (IMA), the eligibility criteria regarding age are as follows:

  1. Age Limit :
    • Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd January 2001 and not later than 1st January 2006 are eligible.

Since your date of birth is 3rd May 2003, you fall within the eligible age range for the CDS exam.

  1. Number of Attempts :
    • There is no restriction on the number of attempts for the CDS exam as long as you meet the age criteria.

Therefore, you have as many attempts as you need until you cross the upper age limit (which is usually around 24 years for CDS IMA, but it's always best to check the latest notification from UPSC for any changes).

As of now, based on your age, you are eligible to appear for the CDS exam and have multiple attempts remaining.

Good luck with your preparations!

my dob is 03/13/2001 and i will finish my graduation in 2023 will i be eligible for cds ota in 2026???

Afreen 17th Sep, 2024

You will be roughly more than 25 years old by 2026 as on 1st July of every year . Based on your age, you cannot enrol in any of the CDS 2026 courses, including the IMA course. Aside from that, you can enrol in CDS 2025 for IMA, since there is a 24-year-old maximum age limit.

Generally Candidates who are graduates are required to submit the proof of graduation/provisional certificate at the time of SSB Interview. Candidates who are in the final year/semester of the degree can also apply for the CDS exam.

MY DATE OF BIRTH IS 17TH DECEMBER 2001. AM I ELEGIBLE FOR CDS 1 2025 (IMA)?

kumardurgesh1802 8th Jul, 2024

Hey there,

The age limit to appear in the Combined Defence Services (CDS) Exam is a minimum of 18 years and a maximum of 25 years. Additionally, you must be unmarried for some segments like Indian Military Academy (IMA), Indian Naval Academy (INA) and Officers’ Training Academy (SSC Course for Men) and have completed your graduation before appearing for the CDS exam.

Given your date of birth is December 17, 2001, you will be eligible to appear for the CDS 2025 exam for segments like Air Force Academy and Officers’ Training Academy (SSC Course for Men) but you won't be eligible for segments like Indian Military Academy (IMA) and Indian Naval Academy (INA) because these segments require the age between 18 years to 23 years and by the time of CDS exam in 2025 your age will be more than 23 years. So, you won't be able to appear for IMA and INA.

If you need more information on any topic, feel free to ask your questions.

Thank you, and best wishes for your future!

i have extra thumb on my left hand alike Hrithik Roshan. i am willing to apply for CDS . so during medical exams will i be considered unfit? because google shows polydactyly is permanent rejection but i am right handed and that thumb feels very normal to me and i feel fit

Ishita 20th Aug, 2024

Hello Aspirant

It's highly unlikely that having an extra thumb would disqualify you from the CDS medical exam.

The primary focus of the medical examination is to assess your overall physical and mental fitness for the rigors of military training and service. Conditions that would significantly impair your ability to perform your duties are grounds for disqualification.

However, it's crucial to consult with a medical expert or the official CDS medical board for definitive guidance. They can provide specific information based on the latest medical standards and guidelines for the armed forces.

can i give cds exam after doing bjmc course ??

Nitin Kumar 28th May, 2024

Yes, you can give the CDS exam after completing a BJMC course, provided you meet the other eligibility criteria set by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) which conducts the exam.

A candidate must have a Bachelor's Degree from a recognized university. Your BJMC degree fulfills this requirement.

A BJMC degree might not provide a direct advantage in the CDS exam content, which focuses on mathematics, science, general knowledge, and military aptitude. However, the communication and analytical skills you develop during your BJMC program can be beneficial for aspects like the interview stage.

sir iam left hand middal finger is normal bend ,can im eligible to nda / cds medical

Ishita 3rd Sep, 2024

The eligibility criteria for NDA and CDS medical exams can vary slightly, but generally, a normal bend in the left middle finger should not be a significant issue.

However, it's essential to consult with the official medical boards or authorities responsible for conducting the medical examinations for NDA and CDS. They will have specific guidelines regarding physical fitness and medical standards that need to be met.
