This is an issue with majority students right. Yes the economy is suffering and a bit recession is there it is expected atleast 20% reduction(expected) in packages during placements of every college. But since you will be having your placements in 2022-2023 so economy will be better then.
If you are starting from the scratch and if you think you are weak in English then start with wren and Martin book and then slowly switch to word power and other materials from the coaching institutes.

Your marks are quiet good. As you belong to SC category, it will give you an advantage to clear CAT as the cutoff is less for SC/ST category. However for IIM Calcutta, the cutoffs of previous years papers were 70 percentile for SC category. But remember cutoffs do vary
