cat stands for common aptitude test. it will be really wise to start preparing for cat exam now to get speed and learn about various questions. see there is many free lectures available for cat in you tube. study them, and every day spend 2 hours for listening lectures

One key difference between them is General Knowledge . Out of the 150 questions asked in SNAP, 30 are from the section General Awareness. While the other three sections, General English, Analytical & Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency have 40 questions each.

As far as I know along with clearing the overall cutoff you should also have to clear the sectional cutoff of every as well. Sectional cut off evey section is lower than the overall cutoff but it has to cleared if you want to get admission in SJMSOM,
