do clat nlu merits will be based on my board marks or only clat marks

Ayush Mishra 19th Jan, 2020

Hey Ayushman!

In order for you to appear for the Common Law Admission Test, you would have to clear the eligibility criteria of the exam. One of the points in the eligibility criteria states that a candidate should have passed in 10+2 or an equivalent exam from a recognized board and general category students should have secured 45% in the qualifying exam while for SC and ST candidates, 40% in qualifying exam is necessary.

As long as you clear this and also the other eligibility criteria, it isn't any problem. Clat NLU results or merits are decided only on the basis of your CLAT Scores and your board marks would not have a say in it. However, it is advised to not take boards lightly as poor academic records would surely affect you in the longer run.

Hope this helps.

hey there can you tell me how to prepare for the new english and reasoning pattern for clat im very much worried about these 2 sections PLEASE

Sanjanaleekha 18th Dec, 2019

Hi there,

As per the new pattern of CLAT,2020 English and Reasoning sections will comprise more of comprehension based questions, for preparation of English sections i would recommend you to stick to the basic books like Wren and Martin, word power made easy and also it is must that you read editorials of newspapers (preferably The Hindu) regularly, this will help you immensely in answering comprehension based questions.

For Logical Reasoning i would suggest you to solve questions from deductive reasoning portions, Arihant has a good book on it which is easily available in the market. This would be enough for logical reasoning section.

mjaisinghani62 19th May, 2020

Hello aspirant

It doesn't make sense that you have passed xii directly. The most important thing is that you must be a graduate from any stream. For admission to LLB a candidate must be graduate.. LLB is undergraduate law degree for anyone who wants to enter the field of judiciary and law.
