There is a minimum eligibility criteria for CLAT -
CLAT Eligibility
  • Candidates should have passed Higher Secondary School/Intermediate Examination (10+2) or its equivalent examination with not less than45% marks in aggregate(40% in case of SC/ST and persons with Disability).

  • There is no age bar for appearing in CLAT.

The answer to your query is no!, it isn't necessary as you will be submitting your class 12th marksheet which will show where the candidate has appeard from, provided he/she is appearing in the current year.
