You apply in whichever university you want but at the same time you must fulfill the eligibiity criteria of particular university .You can appear for the entrance as well but you can't take admission in more than one .Now-a -days because of aadhar system you can't do such

Yes the syllabus varies for different institutes of different states as they come under different universities.

Try to find notes of those colleges which come under your university and also look out for the subjects as other intitutes may have different optional subjects as compared to yours.

The syllabus for 4 semesters of Biology for Msc entrance are:

Semester 1:

Paper I: Genes and Genomics

Paper II: Proteins and Proteomics

Paper III: Cell Biology

Paper IV: Biostatistics and Bioinformatics

Semester 2:

Paper I: Metabolism and Metabolomics

Paper II: Recombinant DNA Technology

Paper III: Methods

Maximum 3 courses are allowed and if you wish to appesr for more courses you can pay additional fee for the same. 

You can however apply across all University participanting in CUCET.
