Both college CS is best. If you want best of best than go to top IIT/NIT/IIIT etc. COEP/VJTI CS is as par with top NITS. Fees are very low as compared to NIT/IIT. Almost 100% placement of CS student with median package of 6-8 lakh/ annum.
If you are confused and cannot choose between one, go for CS+MBA at thapar university without a second thought.
CS+MBA hold more value than Mechanical anytime.

MET 2018 closing rank for CSE and IT department was 1059 and 2113 respectively. So it may not be possible to get admitted for computer science or information technology.
You can take admission in any other department where you can satify their eligibility criteria:-
