Computer Science Engineering
HEY THERE!!
Which to Choose?
UPES is preferable if you desire better placement percentages, updated curriculum with specialisations, and greater international exposure. The highest and average packages are also slightly improved, and the university provides good industry relations and global options.
KIIT is also an excellent private university with a good reputation, good placements, and great campus life. If you like its campus culture or location, it's still a strong option.
In general, UPES has a marginal advantage in placements and industry interaction for Computer Science.
Select according to your preferences: location, charges, campus, and specializations.

With a 91.74 percentile and a rank of 122000 in JEE Mains 2025, as a female candidate, you may secure Computer Science in some reputed state-level or women-centric engineering colleges through home state or female quota.
HELLO,
The TNEA cutoff of 182.5 may be available for computer science programs in Tamil Nadu colleges but it depends on specific colleges , category and seat availability and this cutoff is generally considered good for securing a seat in many engineering colleges especially for non computer science programs .
However getting into CS programs specially in highly top colleges like NITs can be more competitive at this rank
You can get other best engineering colleges less competitive than NITs but may not be enough to secure a seat in a top tier NIT CS program
Your category like General, Sc ,Obc or ST it will also affect the availability of seats and chances for the program and college you are applying to .
You can refer to the link if you want to check cutoff or colleges - https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/tnea-cutoff

NITs
* NIT Agartala
* NIT Puducherry
* NIT Mizoram
* NIT Sikkim
* NIT Arunachal Pradesh
IIITs
* IIIT Guwahati
* IIIT Kota
* IIIT Kalyani
* IIIT Una
Other GFTIs:

* NIFTEM, Thanjavur
Cutoffs vary each year, so check the latest JoSAA counselling data for accurate info.
With a rank of 23,000 in JEE Mains, it is unlikely to secure a Computer Science specialization in AI and Machine Learning at SRM Sonipat Delhi NCR, as the competition for such branches tends to be high. You may want to explore other options or consider management quotas.
Hello,
With a MET score of 120 out of 240 and 93% in your board exams, it might be challenging to secure a seat in Computer Science Engineering (CSE) at Manipal's main campus . Historically, the cutoff for CSE at the main campus has been around 180 marks or higher.
However, you may have better chances for CSE or related branches like Information Technology or Data Science at Manipal's Jaipur or Sikkim campuses.
So, you should participate in the counselling process and explore all available options. Additionally, consider backup plans such as applying to other universities or exploring different engineering branches.
Hope it helps !
With a score of 120 in the Manipal Entrance Test (MET) and 93 percent in boards, it is unlikely you will get admission to Computer Science (CS) at the main Manipal campus in the first round of counseling.
While the exact cutoffs vary, strong competition for CS seats generally requires a higher MET score.
Thank you!!
To secure a seat in Computer Science Engineering (CSE) through JEE Main , the required rank varies based on the college and category. Here's a general guide for some of the top colleges:
General Category : Typically, a rank under 10,000 is needed to secure CSE in top IITs like IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur.
Other IITs : A rank between 10,000 and 20,000 may secure CSE in IITs like IIT Roorkee, IIT BHU.
General Category : Typically, a rank under 5,000 is needed for top NITs like NIT Trichy, NIT Surathkal.
Other NITs : A rank under 10,000 to 15,000 can secure CSE in other NITs.
General Category : A rank under 20,000 can often get you CSE in top IIITs like IIIT Hyderabad, IIIT Delhi.
General Category : A rank under 50,000 to 70,000 may secure CSE in GFTIs and some private colleges that accept JEE Main scores.
Many state engineering colleges accept JEE Main ranks for CSE admission, and the required rank varies. It can be higher for more popular colleges.
Reserved Categories : SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwD candidates usually have a relaxed cutoff, with higher-ranked candidates able to secure admission in CSE with ranks significantly higher than the general category cutoff.
Counseling and Cutoffs : The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) or respective state counseling authorities will announce the exact cutoffs for each college and category.
Category and Home State Quotas : Cutoffs are usually lower for candidates applying under their home state quota or specific categories (e.g., OBC, SC, ST, etc.).
