If you are asking regarding Sahyadri College of engineering Mangalore:- the cutoff for any category for CSE branch is :- 5 digits and its same for IT also. They ends in 10k-20k for general. You can take an admission for sure with your categorical rank.

See Btech CSE has really vast scope today in the market with every other institution hiring CSE grads for fulfillment of there requirements. When you apply for off campus placements yourr institution hardly matters if you have the right skill set of skills to prevail in the industry.

their is no harm in selecting NIT branch but if you you wont get them anyways, then i advise you that you should try for it, as you only will be wasting time doing it. Instead you should go on for options of colleges were you can get
