Construction management
Construction management is a promising career with growing job opportunities. Construction management is a professional service that provides a project's owner(s) with effective management of the project's schedule, cost, quality, safety, scope, and function. Construction management is compatible with all project delivery methods.
structure Engineer
Structural engineering is a sub-discipline of civil engineering in which structural engineers are trained to design the 'bones and muscles' that create the form and shape of man-made structures.
These career choices don't work in India and do not have most scope.
But comparing these jobs and th salary structure Engineering pays more.
The major difference between Infrastructure management and construction management is that, Infrastructure management has got a bigger aspect of covering Design, construction, operations, finances etc. of a wider project. It involves a lot of stakeholders from various fields such as Legal, financial, environmental, construction, government etc.Majority of Infrastructure projects in India are done on PPP(public private partnership) model.
While construction management is dedicated to construction part of a project. It has limited application with the construction part of the project.
In Infrastructure project mostly government is involved as it covers a wider public as beneficiary, while construction management projects are mostly carried by civil contractors.
Example: In a highway construction project, Earning, procurement, Design, building, Finances,SPV(special purpose vehicle) such as tolls etc. will come under umbrella of Infrastructure management.
While construction of highway after all planning, finances and legal formalities by a Pvt. or govt. civil contractor will come under construction management that includes scheduling of construction, resource levelling, time cost trade-off etc.
hope this will help you
all the best!!
