First of all, the job of collector includes recovering overdue payments on accounts, tracking debtors down by phone or mail and helping them to make payments and encouraging them to find alternative payment methods.
The highest salary of a Collector in India is approximately 167028 per month and the lowest salary is Rs 5794 per month.
In order to become a collector, you need to qualify the civil services exam conducted by Union Public Service Commission(UPSC). First you need to qualify CSAT(Civil Service Aptitude Test). After qualifying this test, you can apply for UPSC exam.
In order to be eligible for CSAT, you have to be a citizen of India. You must be a graduate and must hold a Bachelor’s degree like MBBS, B.E. etc from a recognized University. Maximum age limit for general category is 32 years, for OBC is 35 years, for SC/ST is 37 years and for PWD is 42 years.
After UPSC exam, you can become a collector after facing an interview.
You should have an in-depth knowledge of History, Constitution, International relations, economy, ethics, Environmental science and you can take any subject in your graduation. You need to read NCERT of 5th to 12th standard.
