which exam should i give after 11th as a pcm cs student

Prachi Kumari 14th Nov, 2025

Hello,

After Class 11 as a PCM + CS student, you can give only practice or olympiad-level exams. Main entrance exams happen after Class 12.

You can try exams like:

  • Physics, Chemistry, Astronomy Olympiads

  • Informatics Olympiad

  • NTSE-type talent exams (if available)

  • Mock tests for JEE and BITSAT

Actual engineering exams like JEE Main, JEE Advanced, BITSAT, VITEEE, SRMJEEE, and state CET exams will be given after Class 12.

Hope it helps !

how much rank or marks shoulf we have to get cs in vit vellore

Rahul Mandal 5th Nov, 2025

Hello,

To get a CSE seat in VIT Vellore, you need a very high rank, ideally within the top 1000 ranks, which requires scoring over 100 marks in the VITEEE exam. The exact marks and rank needed vary by category, but the top categories have the highest cutoffs for CSE. Also, you can check VITEEE Cutoffs for more info.

I hope it will clear your query!!

Rahul Mandal 2nd Nov, 2025

Hello,

Sorry, but it's unlikely you will get into NIT Rourkela Computer Science with a 99 percentile and OBC-NCL status under the Home State quota, as the closing rank of this category is very competitive and often falls within the top 8,000 ranks.

I hope it will clear your query!!

Hi! As a PCB student, you can pursue B Tech in Computer Science at some universities that offer bridge courses in Mathematics , Colleges include Career Point University (Rajasthan), Lovely Professional University (Punjab), and VIT University (Tamil Nadu). Admission usually requires clearing the university’s entrance exam, and bridge courses cover the necessary math concepts. Few college are offerering cs to the pcb student by providing a bridge course so is it fake?

Rahul Mandal 23rd Oct, 2025

Hello,

The claim that "Few colleges are offering CS to the PCB student by providing a bridge course" isn't fake; it is a valid pathway, particularly in private universities. This has been made possible by recent educational policy changes, such as the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and updated University Grants Commission (UGC) and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) guidelines.

I hope it will clear your query!!

Im a pcb student can i pursue btech in cs

Rahul Mandal 23rd Oct, 2025

Hello,

Yes, it's possible for a PCB student to pursue a BTech in Computer Science, although it depends on the university. Some private universities and deemed-to-be universities allow admission based on their own entrance exams or offer bridge courses to cover the mathematics requirement. For government colleges, this is typically not an option, as they require 12th-grade Mathematics (PCM) as a mandatory subject.

I hope it will clear your query!!

Prachi Kumari 23rd Oct, 2025

Hello,

Yes, there is an ex-servicemen (Ex-Servicemen) quota for ME Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) admissions through TANCET (Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test). This reservation is part of the special category seats for Tamil Nadu natives.

According to the TNEA (Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions) guidelines, 8 seats in University Departments, 34 in University Colleges, and 108 in Government and Government-aided Colleges are reserved for the sons and daughters of ex-servicemen. This totals 150 seats across various institutions.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • You must be a native of Tamil Nadu.

  • You should be the son or daughter of an ex-serviceman.

  • You need to provide relevant documents, such as the parent’s discharge certificate and ID card, to claim this quota.

This quota is available only to Tamil Nadu natives. If you are not a native of Tamil Nadu, you may not be eligible for this reservation.

Does JoSAA accept Computer Science (Code 083) as a technical vocational subject?I will give jee 2026exam but I an not full filling the 75% criteria if I add chemistry marks but if I add cs I am eligible for admission in NIT+ system. so whether I stick to my first aperance in boardsor should I reappear for class 122020-26?

Aahana Rawat 26th Oct, 2025

Hi,

If you wish to be admitted to NITs, IIITs, and other institutes through JoSAA, you should have completed class 12 examination with PCM as core subjects and must have at least 75% aggregate marks or should be in the top 20% of your board.

Many boards consider Computer Science as a technical subject, but JoSAA does not allow it to be a substitute for Physics or Chemistry; it can only increase your percentage if your board officially includes it in the aggregate. So, if your marks does not meet 75%, you will be not be eligible for NITs, IIITs, and other institutes through JoSAA.

It be better if you consider to reappear for class 12 to improve your marks and fulfil the eligible criteria.
