Computer Science Engineering and Information Technology(IT) is two different branches in Engineering Field but it's syllabus /placements recruiters is 90% almost same .

So, in that case you can prefer with any of these two courses , but you can't opt both courses combinedly in B.Tech level ,

I’m currently from GLA University Greater Noida, and for B.Tech CSE, I feel GLA University is a good option compared to KIT Kanpur. see since you have qualified in gate exam, you are eligible for scholarship , while studying in private or government institute affiliated under aicte , you can apply for scholarship., remember that you must take admission for m.tech full time course to avail the gate scholarship.
