Yes, UGC has approved the proposal of pursuing and getting two degrees at the same time, but the only limit is that, the one degree should be of Regular Mode and Another degree should either be in Distance learning mode or private mode.

Well preparing for clat is also possible without coaching but it do require extra work as you will have to collect all the required materials such as notes and books by yourself, where in a coaching centre you are provided all the required materials.
