Step 1: Gain Data Entry SkillsEmployers train data entry operators, but good typing and numeric key entry skills are a common prerequisite. Knowledge of database software, spreadsheets, and word processing is helpful.

To get a job as a Data Operator, Look through local listings. When you begin compiling jobs to apply for, look at local listings first. Try online positions as there are multiple sites available which offers job for the same. You can easily apply for the job by the portal, Work on your resume. A good resume is the first step to successfully finding a job. Go through a temp agency and also Practice good interview skills. These practices will copltely help you out to find good available jobs. To work as a Data operator, the candidate must be a graduate with well versed in the operation of MS-Word,Ms-Excel and MS-Power point(additional) and must have a good typing skill (speed) in a computer. For data entry you must have a good vision and be willing to work for at least 6–8 hours daily.

Selection process will be different for different companies/organizations.
But all you need is to have skill in how computer is used, and good knowledge with MS Word, MS Excel and you need to be atleast a average speed typer. And a bit of confidence on yourself.
