Rishin Halder 21st Jun, 2021

Hello aspirant,

Yes. It is possible to do Masters in Data Science. As you are from an engineering background and you may have done programming, your logical starting point will be strong. You can follow this steps for further knowledge:

Make a grip in a programming language like R or Python. As you're planning to do a full fledged course, do a simple introductory online course from course era or from any other online portal with good content a d decent instructors.

Read statistics thoroughly and develop a deep understanding of the subject. Study how statistical modeling can help make better decisions and answer questions logically. The deeper the connect the better.

Kindly research before you make a decision.

Hope this helps,

I have qualified in gate 2021 in electrical but im inrested to go into IT sector . Now can i do MTech in core as it is electrical and prallely PG Diplomo in data science ?

Sohamsengupta8 14th Jul, 2021

Hello Student

It will be better for you to do data science course after passing B tech electrical at least with 60% marks.there is no such courses which will satisfy  your interest of doing Mtech electrical after gate qualifying and PG diploma in data science at  the same time. So if you are interested in data science course you can do after qualifying in GATE examination and do Mtech in data science. It is not a matter from the branches of Engineering you have done BTech.you can do Mtech in data science after qualifying in in GATE examination and score at least 60% marks in BTech any of the streams of Engineering ..

Hope this helps.

i got rank 4168 in phase 1 SRM JEE 2021 but didnt got any message for admission in CS. what should i try for 2 counselling for main campus KTR (1) AI & ML (2) Data Science (3) cloud computing (4) big data analytics.

Manidipa Kundu Student Expert 6th Jun, 2021

hi,

see cutoff score fluctuate every year and it depends on certain determining  factors like number of applicants, questions difficulty level, seat matrix, choice of stream  and so on. however as per previous years cutoff you have decent chances for selection in cse stream, this year expected closing rank is 9500 - 10500, we still not having the cse with specialized cutoff, however I would suggest to give choices as per your Interest. AL AND ML, data science, cloud computing, big data all are emerging technologies and have wide scope in future.

Mtech in IIT Jammu (Data Science) or Bits Hyderabad(CSE), which one should I opt for ?

Aditi More 11th Jul, 2021

Hey,

I would suggest Mtech at Bits Hyderabad would be a great choice as IIT Jammu is still in developing stage.

At BITS you will find an exposure to all the current technologies and the environment there is exquisite. It will not only help you academically but also professionally.

The placements are simply too good there and BITS is considered to be one of the best engineering colleges in India.

I hope this helps

I am interested in computer science engineering , information technology and artificial intelligence and data science engineering which has high scope and high package in future ? which should I choose ?

Anushri Varshney 10th Jul, 2021
Hi there,

As you are interested in engineering in Computer Science fields. You have mentioned all the branches and specializations for the Computer science field. See, there is no issue if you either opt for specialization or Cse or it branch.

What matters is the hard work you put in the important subjects and gained knowledge on technology. The most important part of the CSE branch, you need to be good enough in DSA, OOPS, DBMS, WEB DEVELOPMENT, ANDROID DEVELOPMENT or ML and AI. You can take admission in any branch and specialization. The difference is when you opt for specialization the major portion will be from the specialization subjects. The Traditional CSE branch has many more options in future.

After pursuing graduation, a candidate can opt for jobs in software-related or IT firms with SDE roles, Analyst, Tester and many more. The package depends upon the job role and company. Mnc provides more packages as compared to service-based ones. So, for getting into MNC you need to focus on the above-mentioned subjects and development courses.

If you keen and interested in specialisation then go for it. Else, CSE is forever branch.

While this helps you.

For any query kindly revert here.

Good luck:)

is data science a very difficult course?

Aditi amrendra Student Expert 30th May, 2021
Hello,

At present data science is one of the most demanding courses. Most of the students are preparing to go for data science course but they are mistaken that this is an easy course but the reality is that data science is a very difficult course and it requires a lot of hard work, skills, patience and deliberate practice. You will have to strengthen areas like Programming language (R or Python), database queries (SQL), and statistics in mathematical concepts are needed and apart from that you will also have to develop technical expertise. So, finally i would suggest you to go for the course only if you are seriously interested and only if you can devote 8-10 hours everyday.

I hope this helps.

Which is the most helpful for future careers. B.tech with specialization in Data Science or Big data analytics or Cyber security or cloud computing or No specialization? Does my scope of getting job reduces if i take any specialization?

Manidipa Kundu Student Expert 28th May, 2021

hi,

see specialization course does not debarred you from not selected for CSE related job, while you go for specialization, that means you have studied the particular topic apart your generalized syllabus. however if you want you may go for others relevant streams job as well. after completing b.tech in cse you may apply as software engineer, programmer, data analyst , web developer like positions. however big data/ data science or cyber security each of the technology has wide opportunity and chances that it would increase in future. however apart from stream you have to be very selective about college and placement record so that you do not need to struggle for job after completing the graduation.

hope you understand.
