Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati University, Ajmer is one of the most renowned Universities which was established on 1 August 1987. As per the requirement of UGC, teaching departments were created at the campus in March 1990 and teaching was introduced during academic session 1991-92 with some Non-conventional and Professional postgraduate courses.

It has 246 colleges affiliated to it over the state of Rajasthan. The university had conducted examination of 3,05,600 students for various courses in the year 2016-17.
