Dayanand Sagar University has only two branches of engineering(ECE and Mechanical) whereas Dayanand Sagar academy has about 5 courses of engineering which suggests that it is more firmly recognized and established. It was better faculty and much experienced staff and established well before DSATM.

Even the placements are better for dsu .

Dayanand sagar college of engineering is an autonomous college under vtu while dayanand  sagar academy of technical education and management is a new college in dayananda sagar group of institutions
