DCET
Hello aspirant..!
Hope you are doing great..!
Yes, you can do BE in computer science engineering even though you have done mechanical engineering in diploma. Anyone can change to Computer science branch in Engineering.
DCET is an exam conducted in Karnataka for the students to take admission in engineering as lateral entry. Through DCET you can join in Engineering in computer science.
DCET helps you to join in Engineering through counseling process. Or else you can join in Engineering in computer science in your preferred college through management quota.
All the best
Hello
DCET is a diploma cover entrance test through which second year engineering admission is possible. Through this exam past year of the architecture UG engineering course admission is possible in the lateral entry system.
Is admission is according to your choice you can leave it anytime as your choice. To intake the course is not mandatory, you can cancel it any moment. But in my views not to leave the course and go on with the studies getting an excellent result and make your future bright.
Hope this will help.
Karnataka DCET counselling conducts only two rounds. So if you are not alloted any seat in the 2nd round as well then you have no options because, 2nd round is the last round and no more rounds will be conducted.
So as there are no third round, you can't wait for it.

I hope this answer helps. All the very best for your future endeavors!
Hello, I hope you are doing well
DCET seat allotment result for the second round has already been announced. The candidates who have been allotted a seat will have to pay the seat acceptance fee and confirm the admission. After paying the seat acceptance fee, candidate will have to report to respective institute for document verification.
For those who have not been allotted any seat in 1st and 2nd round, there is no 3rd round, you can try for admission in some decent private colleges of your state. Another option is to drop a year and give the exam again.
Hope this helps

Hello dear,
I understand your concern. Sorry to say but yeah you might lose your seat because all forms which we fill have some time duration for the correction and if in meanwhile you haven't changed or gave notice to it then it is not acceptable.
I Believe it, you must try with the examiners or any one who gives you permission to solve this problem and you must request them to listen to you. But majorly there is a high doubt about not taking this case further at the counseling and not letting you take the permission of admission in the class.
I hope you understand my point.
Thank you!
Dear aspirant,
As you have secured 6.1k rank in dcet cs branch let me tell you that it's a pretty good rank and considering you are an obc candidate so you would also get the benefit of that.
However various factors are considered while deciding the cut offs like number of candidates appearing in the examination, number of vacant seats in college previous years cut offs and difficulty level of the paper.
But as on a general basis you would get a seat in this college.
Generally top 4.5k-5k ranks under the 2A category are eligible for the government colleges and those who are under 1G category top 7k ranks are allowed to get the colleges.
However these things changes every year depending on the basis of number of candidates appearing in the examination, number of vacant seats in college, previous years cut offs and difficulty level of the paper.
