Defence Research & Development Organisation
Hello Anand,
First let us understand the difference between the above two streams.
Aeronautical engineering is a study about the design and systems of an aircraft. It involves practical and theoretical understanding of materials, assembling parts, testing and maintenance of aircrafts. Professional engineers working in this domain have to be licensed aeronautical engineers. The course also enables students to attain knowledge of advanced technology used in aircrafts travelling in outer space. Aeronautical engineering also covers disciplines like aerodynamics, avionics and propulsion among others. Students pursuing aeronautical engineering can explore opportunities in defence organisations, government research centres, aircraft manufacturing organisations and ISRO.
Aerospace engineering is the primary field of engineering concerned with the development of aircraft and spacecraft. It has two major and overlapping branches: Aeronautical engineering and Astronautical Engineering.
This indiactes that Aeronautical Engineering is actually a subset of Aersopace engineering. If you opt for Astronautical Engineering, a job in ISRO would be more favourable but if you opt for Aeronautical Engineering, a job in DRDO or HAL will be a better option.
Hope this finds you well!
Thank you!
I am a b.tech graduate and I had my specialization in electronics and communications engineering but I did not write any gate exams so can i apply for the jobs in DRDO?
Women have been steadily rising in power in India’s defence research sector. From the most prominent Agni missile project to manning human resources, women have surged ahead in a sector that was dominated for long by men.
If Tessy Thomas shot to popularity as the ‘Agni Putri’, or Missile Woman, after the successful launch of the long distance Agni-4 missile in 2011, nearly a dozen women today drive projects — from those of strategic importance to taking care of planning and coordination — at the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).
Beginning in 2010, when Shashi Bala Singh became the first woman to be appointed director of a major national defence laboratory — Defence Institute for Physiology and Applied Sciences (DIPAS) — women have silently and successfully grabbed key positions in the defence sector.
At present, four Director General (a dozen in DRDO), five directors of laboratories (network of more than 52 labs) and a couple of project director positions are held by women, according to information available.
there will be the job notification visit www.isro.gov.in or https://www.freshersworld.com/isro-job-openings/4444121
Indian Space Research Organisation works with a huge fleet of communications satellites (INSAT) and remote sensing (IRS) satellites, that shows the huge demand for fast and reliable communication and earth observation respectively. ISRO organisation also develops and brings application of particular satellite products and tools to the country such as weather forecasts, broadcasts, disaster..etc all the best
Hi Dipak,
Yes, DRDO and ISRO both recruit M.Sc Electronics candidates through their job selection examination conducted once every year.
Thank you and best of luck.
