This decision totally depends upon your choice what do you like the most.

It doesn't depend which course is better from where ,what matters is how interested are you in a course.

Talking of that the basic difference in both of them are

A person with data science skills can do work regarding a business analytics ,but the case is not other way around.

But as already mentioned its your personal choice.

What are the government job opportunities available by doing Bsc data science and its Msc? Is there any chance to get into RBI grade B DSIM/DEPR, NABARD, IES, ISS, SBI, Rail, SSC CGL, SSC JSO, ISRO, DRDO and top graded jobs other than IAS, IPS?

Manidipa Kundu Student Expert 9th Apr, 2020

hi,

see once you complete your graduation course in any discipline you are eligible to give ssc cgl, rbi assistant, sbi po, sbi clerk etc exams. however data science deals with statistics and it has good career scope in mncs companies,. but for government sector , there is less recruitment now for data science specialist. however data science includes topics like statistics, probability, set theory and discreet mathematics. so you should take bsc in data science if you have eagerness to learnt these courses.

what about the defence exams ? what is the career in defence?

Vikas gehlot 4th Feb, 2020

If you want to get into defence services as an officer then there to is I let you go after class 12th or after your graduation.

after class 12 you can appear for NDA and after qualifying NDA you need to appear for SSB interview if you make into the merit list and then you will be joining National defence academy khadakwasla Pune after 3 years training you will be sent to specific arm of the defence force that is if you choose Indian airforce then you will be sent for training at Hyderabad and respectively Dehradun four military academy and for civil services will be sent to respective academy after training for around one and half year you will get commissioned into army. Service equivalent to group A gazetted officer.

if you appear for CDS after graduation then after qualifying CDS you need to prepare for SSB and if you make it to the merit list then based on the preference you will be sent to the respective academy of the army of the defence forces. The pattern is similar after training for around one and half year you will get commissioned into the defence force.

I have 60.91% (SECOND CLASS) in B.Tech. Computer Science and 7.8 CGPA(FIRST CLASS) in M.Tech CS. If I get a valid GATE score am I eligible for DRDO direct recruitment through GATE ??

Kartik 12th Dec, 2019
Hi malla
Your result is average in both the degrees. First of all, you would have to work really hard to get a score valid to get you recruited in your desired organisation. If you do, then yes you would be eligible to get recruited but that won't be directly, you would have to go through an interview round based on whichever organisation you aim for.

Physics gate 2020 How much rank is required for recruitment in ONGC and DRDO?? How to make a best strategy to clear gate 2020 with a good ra

gehnachawlagac 4th Sep, 2019

Hello

This is the eligibility criteria :

  1. A Candidate must be an Indian National.
  2. A Candidate must have scored minimum 60% marks in the qualifying exam. In cases where the conversion formula is not obtainable, CGPA/CPI of 6.75 (for a 10 point scale) will be taken as equivalent to 60%, as per AICTE guidelines.
  3. A candidate having knowledge of German, French, Russian, Japanese or Chinese is desirable. But it is not compulsory.
  4. The maximum age of the candidate must be 28 years as on closing date 10 April, 2020. Age Relaxation will be as per Government directions.
  5. Final Year Students are eligible to apply, only if they submit their final marks sheet by August 10, 2020.

Good strategies to get a good rank in GATE :

1) Get the syllabus of your trade and collect the previous year pattern of your paper and from there identify the subjects which comprises of maximum marks in paper every year.

2) Start with tge subject that comprises of MAXIMUM marks to the subject withLEASTmarks.

Usually it has been noticed that in every branch there are 4-5 subjects which comprises of 45-50 marks totally. So you should target those subjects firstly and once you are done with these subjects switch on to APTITUDE AND ENGG. MATHEMATICS .

3) Revise every subject atleast once in a week because if you dont revise the subjects frequently you would soon forget the subjects.

4)Make a separate notebook for formulas and just revise through that because the most important part of gate are formulas. Some questions are easiky solvable but students forget the formula because of which they those marks even in easiest question.

5) Join a good test series.. May be ACE ACADEMY OR MADE EASY TEST SERIES( Ace test series is more relevant to gate pattern but actual competition is reflected in MADE EASY tests)

6) In last 30 days just solve previous year question papers, give tests daily(FULL syllabus) and revise formulas.

thankyou, i hope it helps, feel free to approach for further queries.

rajaman9300 Student Expert 4th Sep, 2019

Hello Madan

As far as i know, the eligibility criteria for DRDO and ISRO is 65% in btech and it is not considered as a second division. I have seen many people with 66% in Btech and doing job in ISRO. Many colleges provide marks on the CGPA basis which is bit different than percentage.

I am not complete the Gate exam, can I apply the DRDO Exam

Shubham Kumar Gupta 27th Aug, 2019
Hello Vishwesvaran, Greetings!

No, it is not possible to join DRDO without gate examination although there are few other ways:

1. If your college happens to be a lucky few where RAC visits you stand a chance to be taken in as Scientist ‘B’. They usually recruit from premier institutions like IIT and NIT.

2. The last option is through RELEVANT experience. They (RAC) call for suitable candidates based on requirements and then there are the usual round of interviews and considering you have done well during selection, you are in. The post/rank that you are given depends on the amount of experience you have. Usually it's Sc ‘C’ and above.

Thank you, best of luck.
