To become a dermatologist through NEET 2025, follow these steps:

  1. Qualify NEET UG 2025: Secure a high score in NEET UG to get admission into an MBBS program in a reputed medical college.

  2. Complete MBBS: MBBS is a 5.5-year course (including a 1-year internship).

  3. Prepare for NEET PG: After MBBS, you need to qualify NEET PG to secure admission into MD in Dermatology, Venereology, and Leprosy (3 years).

  4. Specialization: After completing MD, you can further specialize in dermatology through fellowships or super-specialty courses.

Focus on scoring well in both NEET UG and PG, as dermatology is a highly competitive branch.

if I want to be a dermatologist from AFMC pune of 3 year course then did I also have to do mbbs too ??

Megha Bele 27th Jun, 2021

Hi aspirant,

Yes ! MBBS is compulsory !You can do PG in MD/ MS in any subject only after the completion of 5.5 years of MBBS.

  • In case of dermatologist, you need to first complete MBBS that is undergraduate course like any other speciality like cardiologist , neurologist etc.

  • You can get the desired seat in private colleges as well but you need to pay around 5 lacs per annum. Or you can write NEET PG exam and score high marks to get a government seat. You will earn in these 3 years of PG

Hope that helps.
