Once you are pursuing a diploma course, you can continue the same if you don't have any failure records. The institute policies will themselves guide you through it, you don't need to bother about the same.

In order to take admission you can appear in JEE (Main+ Advanced) exam to take admission in 1st year of enginering in IITs.
NITs don't provide admission to diploma students.
