Director
If you are aiming to become an Art Director , there is no single compulsory national exam for this career. Instead, you build your profile through the right degree + entrance exams + portfolio . You can choose from courses like B.Des, BFA, Animation, Visual Communication, Film Making, Fine Arts, Graphic Design etc. After graduation and industry experience, you can grow into an art director role.
Some popular entrance exams that students take for this career are:
• NID DAT – for B.Des at National Institute of Design • UCEED / CEED – for design courses at IITs and other institutes • NIFT Entrance Exam – for design and fashion communication • AIFD / MITID / ISDI / UPES / Srishti entrance tests – for visual communication and design programmes • FTII / SRFTI entrance – if you want to focus on film direction and art direction in cinema • Private institute exams like Pearl Academy, Manipal University etc.
After completing your studies, internships and projects in areas like advertising, media, film production, animation, branding, or design help you gain experience. Art director roles usually come after working as graphic designer / visualizer / assistant art director / production designer .
If you’d like, I can suggest the best exams and colleges based on your location and interests. All the best for your creative journey.
Hi dear candidate,
It all depends on your personal skills and study dedication which would nurture your growth in future for your career. An expensive college for BDes does not mean direct success. You can find affordable colleges like DTU Delhi or GGSIPU for BDes course however, the MBA colleges are usually expensive (not every college but most of them) although MBA would help you better in your managerial career.

Here is a sample formal letter of complaint regarding the unfortunate incident:
Ranjeetha 112, Andheri East Mumbai – 400069 17 June 2025
To The Director Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai Mahatma Phule Market Building, Mumbai - 400001
Subject : Complaint Regarding the Tragic Death of a Child in an Open Stormwater Drain
Respected Sir/Madam,
I am writing this letter as a deeply concerned citizen of Mumbai in the wake of the recent and heart-wrenching incident in which a 6-year-old child was washed away in an open stormwater drain during heavy rainfall. The tragedy occurred due to the absence of proper safety measures and timely maintenance of civic infrastructure, especially in vulnerable residential areas.
This incident is not the first of its kind. Every monsoon, our city witnesses preventable tragedies caused by open drains, clogged sewer systems, and water-logging. The grief and trauma experienced by the victim’s family and the outrage among residents is a reflection of the failure in urban management and public safety.
It is alarming and unacceptable that, despite repeated warnings from residents and civic groups, open drains and uncovered manholes continue to pose a deadly threat to the public-particularly children and the elderly. The absence of warning signs, safety grilles, and proper fencing around such drains is a glaring negligence on the part of the concerned departments.
I humbly urge your office to:
Conduct a thorough investigation into the incident and take accountability for the lapse.
Ensure immediate covering and fencing of all open stormwater drains across the city.
Launch a monsoon safety audit of high-risk zones and fix vulnerabilities.
Initiate an awareness campaign for citizens about safety measures during heavy rains.
We cannot afford to lose more innocent lives to administrative apathy. I hope the Corporation will treat this matter with the urgency and seriousness it deserves and work toward making Mumbai a safer city for all.
Yours sincerely, Ranjeetha Resident, Andheri East, Mumbai
I hope it help and such things will not happen in the future.
