How is Production engineering branch in NIT Jalandhar, NIT Calicut & NIT Kurukshtera? Can these options be preferred over Tire-2 IIITs?

Tanya Gupta 22nd Nov, 2024

The Production Engineering branch is a great option to consider at NIT Jalandhar, NIT Calicut, and NIT Kurukshetra.

At NIT Calicut, the Production Engineering program is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in mathematics, science, and engineering fundamentals. The program focuses on developing students' skills in areas like manufacturing systems, quality control, and supply chain management. With a sanctioned intake of 59 students, the program offers a great student-faculty ratio, allowing for personalized attention and mentorship.

Similarly, at NIT Jalandhar, the Industrial and Production Engineering program is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills required to succeed in the industry. The program covers a wide range of topics, including manufacturing processes, production planning, and control systems.

NIT Kurukshetra also offers a strong Production Engineering program, with a focus on developing students' skills in areas like manufacturing technology, industrial engineering, and quality control

Considering these options over a tier 2 college is a great idea. NITs are reputable institutions that offer high-quality education, excellent faculty, and great placement opportunities. While tier 2 colleges may also offer good programs, the NITs have a distinct advantage when it comes to reputation, faculty quality, and placement records. So, if you have the opportunity to join any of these NITs, it's definitely worth considering.

NIT Jalandhar or PEC in terms of placement, if getting same stream in both?

kumardurgesh1802 31st Oct, 2024

Hello student,

When comparing NIT Jalandhar and PEC (Punjab Engineering College) for placements, both colleges offer good opportunities, but there are some differences to consider:

  1. Placement Rate : Both have strong placement rates, but PEC, being an older and more established institute, often attracts more high-profile companies, especially for core branches like CSE, ECE, and Mechanical.

  2. Average Package : PEC generally offers slightly higher average packages, particularly in branches like CSE and ECE, as it is located in Chandigarh, a corporate hub. NIT Jalandhar, however, also has competitive placements with good packages, especially for CSE.

  3. Location Advantage : PEC’s location in Chandigarh provides better internship and job opportunities due to proximity to corporate offices and industries compared to Jalandhar.

  4. Alumni Network : PEC has a longer-established alumni network, which can be beneficial for placements and networking.

Overall, PEC might have a slight edge in placements if both colleges offer the same stream. However, both institutions are reputable, so you can expect good placement support at either one.

i scored 94 percentage in theory and 164 in agri practical exam out of 200 then can i get ag free seat?

kumardurgesh1802 30th Oct, 2024

Hello Varsha,

With 94% in theory and 164 out of 200 in the agricultural practical exam , you have a competitive score for admission in agriculture courses through KCET. Your high theory marks and practical score should enhance your ranking, making you eligible for a government seat (free seat) in B.Sc. Agriculture at many colleges in Karnataka.

However, the exact chances depend on the final rank list and the cutoff for agricultural seats, which can vary each year based on demand and available seats. Keep an eye on the counseling process, as it will give you a clearer idea of available options for your rank.

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries then feel free to share your questions with us we will be happy to assist you.

Thank you and wishing you all the best for your bright future.

Im getting cse at gndu and ipe, chemical, biotechnology at nit Jalandhar..... Which should I choose???

Ayush Madanpotra 11th Jun, 2025

You got two choices: CSE at GNDU (Computer Science) or IPE, Chemical, or Biotech at NIT Jalandhar.

If you like coding, computer jobs, or want to work in tech companies, choose CSE at GNDU. Computer Science has better jobs and high salary, even if it's not from NIT.

If you want the "NIT" tag (famous college) and are okay with other branches (not computers), choose NIT Jalandhar. But the jobs in Chemical or Biotech may not pay as much as CSE.

Simple advice: If your main goal is good placement and tech jobs, go with CSE at GNDU. If you care more about big college name (NIT) and don’t mind non-computer branches, go with NIT Jalandhar.

can I get cse in nits or iiits at 85 percentile?

satyamercedes0626 22nd Apr, 2024

Hello,

Hope you are doing great.

Answering to your question,

Scoring at the 85th percentile in exams like JEE Main typically might not secure admission to Computer Science Engineering (CSE) programs at top NITs (National Institutes of Technology) or IIITs (Indian Institutes of Information Technology). These institutions usually have higher cutoffs for CSE, often requiring scores closer to the 98th percentile or above. However, your percentile might still make you eligible for other engineering branches or some lower-ranked NITs and IIITs. It's essential to research specific cutoffs for the colleges you're interested in and consider alternate options or counseling rounds for admissions.

Question : When metal is heated in a flame , the electrons absorb energy and jump to higher energy state. On coming back to lower energy state hey emit light which we can observe in

Option 1: Raman spectra

Option 2: Absorbtion spectra

Option 3: Emission spectra

Option 4: Fluorescence

Team Careers360 10th Jan, 2024

Correct Answer: Emission spectra

Solution : The correct option is Emission spectra.

Electrons in a metal absorb energy and migrate to higher energy levels when heated. When they return to lower energy levels, they produce light with specified wavelengths, resulting in an emission spectrum that is unique to each element. This method is employed in atomic emission spectroscopy for exact element identification, allowing scientists to analyse the composition of substances based on the colours of the emitted light.
