Well last year for bbe rank 50%was 12th marks and 50%JAT marks.

So many students who didn't got good marks in JAT but great score in boards. So they left bbe and take seats in other colleges in other courses. These are those students who didn't got good

Unfortunately, I don't think anything can be done about it at this point. The problem is that had you applied through EWS category in the beginning you would have been given an EWS category rank which would have been used for your college admissions and seat allocation right
