Should I opt CET EEE or GEC Thrissur ECE? My KEAM rank is 1485 . can I get CET ECE if I go for spot allotment? should I opt ECE if I dont like coding?

Abhi S 7th Oct, 2021

Hello aspirant,

In the 3rd allotment rank list of 2020 the rank that got admitted for cet for eee was 1463 and in gec thissur for ece was 1943. And there was no seat available for mopup round in cet for ece . As you have got rank 1485 it is better to select ece in gec thissur as the cut off for eee in cet is  greater than your rank.

You can visit the link given below to know about the college and cutoff

My Rank is 3252 in CUSAT CAT examination 2021 will I be able to get admission in SOE for electrical and electronics engineering?

Ayush Roy 26th Aug, 2021

Hello, Aspirant. You mentioned you have secured 3252 rank in CUSAT CAT 2021 and are interested in pursuing Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Well, although you have mentioned your rank, you didn't mention the caste in which you belong. So, I will be giving you an answer assuming you are from general category. If you belong to any other category then kindly mention it in the comment section.

As per the records and your performance in 2021, it is less likely for you to get admission for your desired stream in School of Engineering. In 2018, the Cutoff Rank for B.Tech Electrical and Electronics Engineering was 2002 (for General) .

However, if you are an SC or ST candidate , then you have good chance to get admission for your desired stream with ease. In 2018, the Cutoff Rank for B.Tech Electrical and Electronics Engineering was 10888 (for SC) and 11608 (for ST).

Should I choose EEE in VIT chennai or CSE in TKM? I dont have any special interest towards any branch.

Sarath S S 15th Nov, 2021

Hello ,

According to branch my suggestion would be cse , as it offers good job opportunity

Vit chennai very good campus , private college , good facilities but really high fees

TKMCE cs is really a good decorated branch , which you really need a good score in keam to get there , really good study environment and teachers will complete all you portion within time unlike many government colleges including CET , For academics Tkm always comes in the top , But studing under KTU syllabus is really a task and really low fees if your studing in merit seat less than 15K per year

if you have any doubts regarding TKMCE let me know

Hope this helps you

best wishes

the RAMPUR  polytechnic college  is a government college . So the fees Info structure is very less than the other private college.

As per the fees structure the annual fee is 10790 only  so as per 3 years the fees near by 330000 only

So it is  affordable and also if you have 75 % then you can go for scholarship .

CET (Trivandrum) EEE or MEC(Kochi) ECE? Which should I choose?

Mghv 29th Sep, 2021

Dear Bhadra,

The College of Engineering, Trivandrum(CET) was established in 1939 as the first Engineering College in the then Travancore State. According to NIRF ranking, the College of Engineering Trivandrum is placed in the 71st position. The College ranks among the top in the country in the quality of its graduates and the number of top jobs held by its graduates. With such an eminence in the academic and curricular activities, the College is the most sought after Engineering College by the applicants of Engineering degree programmes in the state. The Electronics Engineering department (EEE branch) basically includes studies related to transmission of electrical signals and circuitry. It deals with analog and digital transmission & reception of data, voice and video, solid state devices, microprocessors, satellite communication, antennae, wave progression and digital and analog communication.

Whereas, Government Model Engineering College(MEC) is affiliated to the APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU) and was the first engineering college to be established by the Government of Kerala under the aegis of the institute of Human Resource Development (IHRD). The college was previously affiliated to Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) and has witnessed record breaking placements year after year. MEC was featured 37 among the top 100 engineering colleges in India by Outlook magazine and 21 among the top 25 Govt. Engineering colleges in India by DataQuest. The Electronics Engineering and Communication Department (ECE) offers premier professional training with the modern developments in electronics and information technology.  The curriculum is designed to give adequate emphasis on application of Electronics in Communication Systems and Signal Processing and includes courses on Semiconductor Electronics, Electronic Circuits, Communication Engineering, Instrumentation, Signal Processing, etc. The Electronics Department is home to Digital Circuits, Communication, etc.

The department has been recognized as a research Centre of the Cochin University of Science and Technology. Several research scholars are carrying out high end research in various areas under the supervision of the faculty. Faculty members of the department have also been recognized as research guides under the Kerala Technological University. Faculty have expertise in multimedia signal processing, electronic device modelling, VLSI and embedded systems, microwave engineering and optoelectronics to supervise cutting edge research.

I would suggest you to go for MEC, Kochi if you want to choose college from both. But rather you should pursue you area of interest coursewise. Both EEE and ECE are quite similar with distinct variations between them. So, please choose wisely.

Hope this sorted your query.

Aerospace engineering. chemical engineering. Electrical and Electronics engineering(smart grid and electrical vehicles). Electrical and Instrumentation engineering. Mechanical engineering(digital manufacturing). Biotechnology. civil engineering. five best in sastra university

ANKITA SONI 14th Sep, 2021

Hello Buddy! Hope you're doing good.

As all the branches have their own position. Whatever your interest is, take that course as here every courses is similar in terms of standards. As far as computers and electrical courses (especially ECE), you will have a lot of companies to sit on in the final year. Mechanical, Civil have their own sort of companies. Biotechnology and Chemical are concerned, you will have relatively less number of companies. But that's secondary. It all depends on how you study, and your interest matters. SASTRA provide Aerospace, you can also give a try as it is one of the good University for research and innovation. Hope this will help you.
