I am afraid that you are calling Mechanical a non-manufacturing branch.

Quite strange!

IOCL and some other PSU's are only inviting apllications from Mechanical and Electrical,because they need the graduates who can work in the industrial sector as well as in the private sector.

And there are many PSU's

For goverement sector- you have to qualifiy a Gate with decenat score.than you will got a job in psu like Bpcl,Hpcl Iocl,

For private sector- many private compnies  come in colleges
