I secured 7771 rank in General category in Advanced. Is there any chance of Electrical in any IIT. CS is impossible I think. Please advise.

Hello,

If your AIR is between 7000-8000(not the category rank) ,then you have very good options to choose from.
You belong to General category,then you can get decent branches in very good NITs(except top 4).
If you might belong to OBC category then you can get almost every branch in

Your rank is good enough to get you Electrical branch in any new IIITs barring some like Patna, As you have asked for IITs in a  particular order, It would have been easy if you had mentioned what are your parameters for declaring a college better.

as you secured a rank of 2147  rank in the ADVANCE EXAMINATION it is very good

but the competition for the computer science course is very tougher at the IITs one cannot get a better IIT with the rank you secured

as the all top rank holders

HI there,
Hope you are doing well.
I am really sorry to say but with 3250 OBC Category rank in JEE Advanced, you can't get Electrical Engineering in any IIT.
The last is EE at IIT Jammu which closes at 3209.
But you can get branches like:-

  • IIT Indore:- Metallurgical

Hey Rajendra, hope you are doing well. According to previous year's trends and cutoffs at this category rank you might get NITS like Sikkim, Agartala, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Hazratbal, Mizoram. Hope it helps!! Good luck!!

Dear Aspirant,

You won't be able to get any IIT with CS branch or maybe no other branch too. However, if you are interested in computer science you could get into following IIITs:-

  • Indian Institute of Information Technology Srirangam, Tiruchirappalli
  • Atal Bihari Vajpayee Indian Institute of Information Technology & Management
