See by seeing ur rank it is clear that u have got good marks in the GATE exam. But u r from EE branch which is one of the core branch and has more no of applicants than other.

See u r from the core discipline so must be knowing about the rush and competition in ur branch for the GATE exam. The marks u have scored is above the qualifying marks but is not enough for u to get admissioned in the IITs for ur further

It is obviously good and even better to do ur higher studies from the good colleges of the country which will give u an extra edge in ur profile. 

Doing M.tech from the IITs doesn't assure u of getting job but if provides u with the better knowledge

yes u need to appear for srm jeee for PG courses which is conducted by SRM universityuniversity.. exam location will be major cities of India. however you will get extra credit during counselling for securing gate score. if u have 50% in UG you can appear for the test.

I'm sorry to say that, with this marks there is rare chance to get NITs or IITs with this stream. If you score 300-450 marks more, then there will be a definite chance to get an NIT college.

According to your marks and considering that you are a general category aspirant, it would be difficult for you to get interview opportunity in any PSU, but you should be able to get admission in the M.Tech courses offered by the IITs.
