After completing your Diploma in Electrical Engineering you can take admission in BTech through a lateral entry or Irrespective of your stream in graduation you can apply for almost all clerical jobs, bank PO jobs, SSC, UPSC State PSC etc.

You know better , computer science is better than electrical there is less syllabus in CSE and also more job and more scope in computer science.
Fews for 1st year is approximately 28,000 rs and total is 1lac rupees for 4year duration in electrical engineering exclusive of hostel and mess fees.

IT branch have more jobs than Electrical and also more salary but Electrical students can do job in private sector/ IT sector as well as in government sector.

According to your rank, I think that your admition in EE is not possible with this rank. Looking at the previous year cut off trends which was closed at rank 601, its almost impossible to get a seat in EE.
