Both the branches have equivalent scope in their respective fields. As far as electronics and computer engineering is concerned, there are more core companies available for electronics branch than that of electrical branch. But at the end your motive is an IT company then both are equivalent.

The Electronics and computer engineering at Thapar University is a very good option as Thapar is a very know college in india. Now talking about the placement, 75% students get placed in the core like IT and consulting. The average placement for the year 2017 was 6 lakhs
