First of all I hope you know Polytechnic people wont be eligble for admissions through JEE Main. I hope you know that. You will have to qualify in JEE Main so that you can write JEE Advanced as only IITs will allow admissions for diploma holders or vocational students.

Practice the difficult questions regularly and revise the related concepts. Take GATE ECE mock tests and analyze your paper to identify where you are lagging behind. Work on them. Once you have finished the entire syllabus, focus on the important topics and chapters for each section.

There are many sub-branches to choose from in ECE depending on your college. The most demanded branches are communication systems, digital electronics, power electronics, signal processing etc. I would suggest you to choose the branch which interests you the most.

In order to apply for Diploma in Engineering in Electronics and  Telecommunications branch you should have minimum 45% in the subjects Mathematics & Science. After completing the programme you can apply for Lateral Entry ( direct second Year in B.tech).

VIT vellore is also a very good college but as i sped lots of my time in bengaluru and as MSRIT is one of the top engineering college in bengaluru.
