The core branches are those which form the base of engineering and are the oldest brances such as mechanical, electrical, civil engineering. So, basically, these three branches can be said to be the base of ‘Engineering world

To qualify in jee mains under your quota ie obc (it seems you wrote that only)you need to score 75+%ile in mains exam that means more than or around 70 marks.
