Question : Find 2 numbers such that their mean proportional is 25 and their third proportional is 25.
Option 1: 5 and 5
Option 2: 5 and 25
Option 3: 25 and 125
Option 4: 25 and 25
Correct Answer: 25 and 25
Solution : Let, the two numbers be $x$ and $y$, respectively. The mean proportional between $x$ and $y$ is 25. $x:25=25:y$ ⇒ $xy=625$ The third proportional to $x$ and $y$ is 25. $x:y=y:25$ ⇒ $y^2=25x$ ⇒ $y^2=25×\frac{625}{y}$ ⇒ $y^3=25×625=15625=25$ $∴y=25$ Now, $x=\frac{625}{y}=25$ So, the two numbers are 25 and 25, respectively. Hence, the correct answer is 25 and 25.
Question : Directions: What will come in the place of (?) in the following equation, if + and – are interchanged and × and ÷ are interchanged? 9 ÷ 576 × 24 + 109 – 7 = ?
Option 1: 114
Option 2: 214
Option 3: 318
Option 4: 218
Correct Answer: 114
Solution : Given: 9 ÷ 576 × 24 + 109 – 7 = ?
After interchanging + with –, and × with ÷, the equation will be as follows – = 9 × 576 ÷ 24 – 109 + 7 = 9 × 24 – 109 + 7 = 216 – 109 + 7 = 223 – 109 = 114
So, 114 is the required answer to the given equation. Hence, the first option is correct.
Question : Which article of the constitution clarifies that policies like "reservation" do not violate the right to equality?
Option 1: Article 16 (4)
Option 2: Article 14 (1)
Option 3: Article 21
Option 4: Article 15 (2)
Correct Answer: Article 16 (4)
Solution : The correct answer is Article 16 (4).
Article 16 (4) of the constitution explicitly clarifies that a policy like reservation will not be seen as a violation of the right to equality. Question : Directions: Study the double bar graph given below and answer the question.
The percentage of students of class VIII participating in cultural events out of the total participating cultural events is:
Option 1: 30%
Option 2: 25%
Option 3: 35%
Option 4: 40%
Correct Answer: 25%
Solution : From the given graph, The total number of students participating in the cultural event of class VIII = 60 + 45 + 45 + 30 = 180 The number of students of class VIII participating in the cultural event = 45 The required percentage = $\frac{\text{The number of students of class VIII participating in the cultural }}{{\text{The total number of students participating in the cultural event of class VIII}}}$ × 100 The required percentage = $\frac{45}{180}$ × 100 The required percentage = 25% Hence, the correct answer is 25%.
