For security you can apply in a university even before JEE. It is to ensure a seat in University. After JEE is conducted do participate in it's counseling. And then choose the better University out of them. If you get IITs, NITs, IIITs from JEE then do go

Yes GITAM engineering is a decent college especially for CSE. It provides lot of facilities to students with decent hostels, hygienic food, library, sports complex, cafeteria, MEDICAL hospital in the campus, unlimited Wi-Fi, etc services.

Yes it has good placements as well. Usually students above 6.5 CGPA surely get placed.

The top colleges in Bangalore like RV, BMS or MS Ramaiah is difficult to get if your rank is below 2000. But if you are from OBC category you need to have a rank within 3000 and for ST/SC category you need to have a rank within 4000.
