Question : Directions: The bar graph below shows the percentage distribution of a company's total expenditures under various expense heads during 2013. Study the graph and answer the given question.

If the expenditure on the advertisement is Rs. 2.10 crores, then the difference between the expenditures on transport and taxes is:

Option 1: Rs. 25 lakhs

Option 2: Rs. 35 lakhs

Option 3: Rs. 65 lakhs

Option 4: Rs. 95 lakhs

Team Careers360 18th Jan, 2024

Correct Answer: Rs. 35 lakhs

Solution : Let the total expenditure be Rs. $100x$.
According to the question,
Interest on Advertisement = 15%
$\frac{15}{100} \times 100x = 21000000$
$⇒15x=21000000$
$⇒x=14,00,000$
Total expenditure = 14,00,00,000
Expenditure on taxes = 10% = $\frac{10}{100} \times 14,00,00,000$ = 1,40,00,000
Expenditure on transport = $\frac{12.5}{100}
