I scored 63 percentile in jee mains and I belong to sc category (male) can I get collage with engineering physics branch

jhasuyash006 4th Aug, 2022

Hello Aspirant,

Congratulations for your result. It is quite difficult to predict the exact rank as the trends changes every year because it depends on many factors like number of students appeared, shift, toughness, etc.

But we can predict your result based on the previous trends. With 63 percentile your CRL-AIR will be around 378510 - 425500 and your SC rank will be around 26k+. You can verify your rank by using our rank predictor tool which is given below:

https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-rank-predictor

In order to get a seat in NITs, you need to score at least 9k - 10k SC rank, or 85 percentile as per past year trends.

Thus, with 63 percentile, chances are very low for NITs that too in engineering physics branch.

If you want to check the chances of getting a college, you can go through our college predictor link which is given below:

Thank you and all the best for your future.

Yash 22nd Jul, 2022

Hi,

As per your mentioned query there are only 2 NITs that offers admission in BTech Engineering Physics.

As you haven't mentioned your category so i am providing you information of open category.

NITs are top colleges that are all over India. NITs colleges are listed below and their previous year closing rank for the engineering physics course is mentioned below.

1. NIT Calicut

2021

Home state - 28861

Other state - 16397

2020

Home state - 33719

Other state - 16548

2. NIT Agartala

Will cut off of core branches like mechanical and engineering physics increase or remain the same for jee adv 2022 in IIT roorkee or guwahati.it has been increasing from 2 years

Student 22nd Jun, 2022

Hi there. In response to your query, the answer would be that this factor is completely uncontrollable. To be honest there is no way to tell this as this cut off solely depends on how the eligible candidates fill their choices in sear matrix counseling, depending on that the results are formulated each year, hence the trend might change or continue.

Hope this answer helps; best wishes

can i become astronomer after btech in engineering physics

ayanmukherjee045 31st May, 2022

Dear apsirant,

As per as my observation is considered most of the research astronomers have their degree in physics /astronomy or master degree in physical science mainly physics or astronomy.

To be at that level it takes around 7-8 years beyond the school education. Astronomers are normally good with computers in programming and with normal usage. They also have good mathematical knowledge.

So, you can absolutely pursue astronomy after clearing your b.tech degree with decent percentage of marks. You can opt for specialisation in astrophysics /astronomy.

can u suggest any best youtube channel for engineering physics

Subhalaxmi Biswal 29th May, 2022

Hello Aspirant,

I would recommend Ayush Ghurka’s channel for handwritten notes and explanatory videos, entertaining with little jokes in between and solving doubts if someone posts it in the comment section.

There are channels like 5 Minute Engineering (Hindi), Knowledge gate, Khan academy, education4u, Easy Engineering Classes, and Gate lectures by Ravindra.

You can also check NPTEL in which the lectures are taught by IIT professors.

You can find these channels by a simple search on YouTube. Check whose teaching style suits you the most and follow them. If you don't understand any one of these or don't find their teaching interesting skip to the next you don't need to waste your time there. These are just suggestions some might be useful some might not.

Regards.

Im highly interested in theoretical physics.but also want to apply theories in real world .so what should I do to pursue theoretical physics and to apply it in real world , should I go for Bs in applied physics or B.tech in engineering physics .also dont want to leave pure theoretical physics.

Abhinav Pandey 8th Dec, 2021

hello student,

B.Sc. Applied Physics or Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics is an undergraduate Physics course. Applied physics is a science and a bridge or a connection between physics and engineering. It is applied for particular technological or practical use. The duration of the course is three years and the course covers the study of the application of the theories and principles of Science to practical purposes. The degree course covers the study of topics and subjects like industrial engineering, astrophysics, computer science, business informatics, forensics, chemistry, biology, computer technology, mathematics, economics, social sciences, workplace safety, and other business-related courses. Specific course requirements vary according to the concentration/specialization selected by students at the time.

B.Tech Engineering Physics is a 4-year undergraduate course that deals with electrical science, electronics, mechanics, computing, nuclear physics, and more. The course delves deep into engineering concepts and the topics falling under engineering physics After completing B.Tech Engineering Physics in India, graduates can choose to pursue higher education in India/abroad. Another option is to seek research and development jobs.

my SC preparatory rank is 57.I filled choices like chemical engineering, engineering physics, mechanical engineering in iit Hyderabad, iit roorke,etc.. .But I didnt get any seat in round 1.Why?

pandeyadarsh951 30th Dec, 2021

You should wait patiently for further rounds of counselling it is not compulsory that you will get a seat in round 1 only hence you should wait for further rounds and if your rank is apt enough to get you a preparatory seat so you will definitely get it maybe after some rounds of counselling also seat allotment depends on you choice filling as well so make sure you have filled choices in the best possible way.

Chances are that Ill get Engineering Physics in DTU. I want to get into coding and am prepared to work hard for it. Should I take EP in DTU or should I go for CSE at lower tier college? Some people say college name matters a lot, and some say I wont get the time to code if I take EP. Im confused

pandeyadarsh951 10th Dec, 2021

There are two things in this scenario if you take a lower tier college with cse then no matter how much you work hard you will not get a very good placements as companies providing high packages will either not come or they will not give high packages even if they come on the other hand since EP is a core field department so like in all other core fields syllabus is vast and you may not get time to code but here you should prefer dtu for two reasons first is the tag yo will get by joining the college moreover if you are willing to code then you will find time somehow or the other, moreover here the coding culture is great that will help you in coding but the only problem you might face is that some companies do not allow Ep students to sit in their placements(tech companies) so choose wisely but you can always go for off campus placements.
